Big Jump
Big Jump
Jump into the Nieuwpoort‑Duinkerke canal with us on 12 July to stand up for better water quality.
On Sunday 12 July at exactly 3 pm, the local authority of De Panne and GoodPlanet Belgium invite everyone to jump in Adinkerke. Alongside thousands of citizens across Europe and Belgium, we’ll draw attention to the quality of our local waterways – and this year, also to the issue of plastic pollution.
I’m in!
Registration is not required. Come along to cheer on the brave jumpers, or take the plunge yourself. Swimming in the canal is not allowed at other times, so don’t miss this unique opportunity!

Veiligheidsinstructies
- Always jump wearing footwear (sandals, water shoes, etc.).
- No diving: keep your head above water — literally and figuratively.
- Take care when entering the water.
- Jumping is not recommended for children under 12.
- Children may only jump when accompanied by an adult.
- Participants who have consumed too much alcohol will not be allowed to jump.
- umpers should be aware of the risk of cold‑water shock (hydrocution).
- umping is entirely at your own risk.
Water in our rivers rarely, if ever, meets bathing‑water standards. That’s exactly why we jump — to highlight our call for cleaner water, fully aware that this is at our own risk.
